The one-to-one tablet computer program at Buffalo Seminary allows us to prepare every girl to utilize current technology competently, understand the role technology plays in the world today and prepare for advances in the future. Our program provides an environment where technology is a natural part of teaching and learning. Students learn to research, manipulate, analyze and communicate information in a safe, effective and responsible manner. In an environment where students have 24/7 access to technology, teachers can take a more project based, hands on learning approach in the classroom and easily accommodate different learning styles. New students will each receive a Lenovo laptop/tablet computer. These computers have all of the advantages of a tablet and all of the functionality of a laptop.

Each student has her own Buffalo Seminary email account which she will use daily to communicate with teachers and to receive important school announcements.

To get ready for using this technology, new students must complete several tutorial lessons. When these lessons are complete, she will be invited to come to SEM accompanied by a parent to pick up here new computer and to get a few last minute pointers so that she will be ready to use the technology effectively in her classes.

Residential and Day students who were not able to complete the lessons over the summer, will be required to attend a 3 hour session where we will help them work through these lessons. The 2016-17 session will be help on Friday, Sept 2 at 9am.
