"The American Side" director Jenna Ricker will speak at SEM today. Being a woman and a director is rarity in the world of filmmaking, and she will talk about that, and the fun of making the city of Buffalo its own character in her take on an a classic form - the film noir. Among the places Ms. Ricker shot were SEM, the mansions on Millionaires' Row, the grain elevators on the waterfront, a coffee shop downtown, and of course, on the American side of the Falls.
