SEM Hosts Annual Fencing Tournament
SEM hosted its annual fencing tournament on January 24, 2016 with SEM students earning medals in two categories. Olivia Colon ‘16 took 3rd in Epee, Dabin Han ‘17 took 2nd in Foil and Maddie Love ‘19 and Miao Yu ‘17 tied for 3rd in Foil. It was Maddie’s first tournament!
Coach Wesley Roberts described the day. "In addition to everyone who medaled and has some physical proof of their fencing abilities, Amber Ye '17 fenced incredibly well against a much more experienced fencer and was only 2 points away from taking at least 3rd place. Everyone fenced their hardest this weekend and I hope this gives the new fencers a barometer of what to expect from tournaments.”
